So, I am now 34 weeks pregnant, which means I have about 6 weeks to go before this baby comes. I feel fairly prepared except for the fact that I cannot figure out a name for this girl. I have a bunch of names I like for boys, but I cannot seem to find something that I love for a little girl. I'm driving my poor husband crazy because I am constantly coming up with new names to ask his opinion on. I come up with a name to ask him about and I'll tell him the name and then I get silence and an "are you kidding?" kind of look. And then I am back on my quest for the perfect little girl name. It was so much easier the first time because I put Aaron in charge of the girl names and I got to choose the boy names. I didn't even have to make a decision. She was born and one of the nurses asked her name and Aaron confidently said "Penelope." Now if only I could be so confident this time.
Has anyone else had this much difficulty picking out a name? Will her name pop out at me once she is born? Any help would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Way too picky, indecisive, tentative mommy

I thing you should go with Eva... :)
I wouldn't have such difficulties picking names if it weren't for the male counterpart vetoing everything that comes across his desk. We go the rounds when it comes to names. He doesn't like anything I like. I don't like anything he likes. I'm not one of those name-them-when-I-see-them sorts. I would go home with a nameless baby. I guess one benefit of never agreeing is when we finally do, we've got the name picked. Good luck!
Dan and I have a list of girls names we like, but do we have girls no. If we have another boy next we will once again have the name game. I thought you were thinking about Abigail. I really like that name. I know you had reservations since there would be an Addy and Abby in the family, but how often do we see each other once or twice a year? I also think Abigail and Penelope go good together. I will keep thinking and come with a list when we come next week.
I was thinking about Abigail, but it is one of the top 10 most popular names this year. I don't want her to have 5 other Abby's in her class.
I totally understand and, having just goine through this, it's fresh on my mind! Definately easier with Morgan, because for some reason, we agreed on almost every name we liked. We picked two first/middle combinations, and waited until she was born to decide for sure. THIS time, however, I couldn't feel confident either! Rustin liked Sydney, but I was holding out for one that I liked, (unusual, but I LOVED it) Amaris...and you know what? When I saw her, I realized that as much as I loved the name, she wasn't Amaris, she was Sydney. My advice is see if you can come up with 2 or 3 that you agree on, and wait till you see your sweet girl!
You should make up a name. Thats what I did with Shaleea. I really liked the name Shayla but I wanted something more unique. So I took the first part and then Lee is my sister in laws middle name so I just kinda through it all together. Wierd I know! Good Luck to you!! We miss ya!!!
Oh did we ever have a hard time. We almost named Adelade something else in the hospital and then changed our minds back. Garrett does the same thing as Aaron with the names. Gives me a look like "uh that's a no". But he never contributes, he just says yes or no.
Aaron didn't ask your opinion, you should just do the same. Keep it to yourself until she is born- easier said then done, right!! Good luck!
Are you kidding? Haven't you heard the storied about how hard it was to find a name for Hunter and when I announced one night at a family dinner that I had decided on Hunter there were a ton of Hunting jokes and someone threw in some joke about "Elkie". Names are often the thingthat si used (for some reason) to define us, so they are quite an important event in the lifetime of a pregnancy. I know you'll find something that fits with Aaron, Gwendolyn and Penelope and when you find it you'll know it.
PS. I have a new post finally.
WHAT'S UP?!?! i'll be so happy if you even remember me! ;) i'm so happy that i found your blog...thanks to melinda for finding mine. you totally need to post some pics of your other little girl and you and aaron. congrats on girl #2...watch out, you might be cursed to a life of all girls like us!! anyway, my FAVORITE girl name is olivia. i'm totally handing it over to you #1 we're not having anymore kids, and #2 even if we were to have another kid derek refuses to have a kid named olivia oliverson!!! can't wait to hear from you!!!

In my defence I don't give her an "Are you kidding?" sort of look. I would say it is more like a "Wow, that is a terrible name." sort of look.
I feel that if you don't want a negative response, don't ask the question.
Besides Gwen, I names the last one all by myself and you opted for this job, so here you go.
Aaron!!! I'm totally mad you haven't invited me to read your brother's blog!
Oh and thanks for the info on the spider. I still poisoned it!
No problem Mindz,
I'm just sad you erased it. I spent hours searching that info. I also sent your husband an invitation to the blog. If you really want to see it, You can get him to let you in.
Later,
Dr. E.
