Motorcycle

I think I should have had Aaron sign a contract when he first purchased his motorcycle. . . I, Aaron Heaton, will be extra super-duper careful whenever I decide to ride the death machine and if I ever get hurt I will immediately put said death machine up for sale and will never ask for one again. . .

Aaron tore his ACL, medial meniscus and has a small impaction fracture of his left knee. Surgery # 4, here we come. What joy is mine.

Our Trip to Wyoming

The girls and I went on a little vacation last week to Wyoming to see my family. Aaron had to work, so I had to go the 10 hours in the car alone. I was a little nervous about this, but the girls were angels both ways.

We went to Bear Lake with most of the family on Friday and we had such a great time. Penelope loved being out in the water with all of the cousins and Eleanor spent most of the day on my lap, in the shade. The water was really quite cool when we first got there, so Eleanor and I waited a bit to get in. When I did get her in the water, she just crawled through the water like crazy, trying to get back to the beach and the yummy sand.
Penelope's lips were blue all day and she was constantly shivering, but she wouldn't stop playing.

On Friday night, Angela and Mike blessed their baby, Cade. After the blessing we had dessert and the kids ran around outside. Penelope loved Maliyah and they played together really well.

All of the family stayed the night at grandma's that night. We were only missing Aaron, Matt and his family, Stephanie (who had to work) and my Dad (who was busy playing in Alaska). Eva and Nathan even came with Josh and Noah who was only 3 weeks old and sooo tiny. Penelope got to hold Noah and she was so soft with him. I don't have a picture of her holding Noah, but we did get one of her holding Cade. Penelope loves babies.

Most of the time was spent playing with the dress-ups that Grandma, Angela and Penny provided. Eleanor even got to try one on. :)On Saturday morning there was a parade. Can you imagine the squeal of delight that goes with this picture?Penelope with cousins Isabelle (left) and Adrianne (right). Penelope followed these two girls everywhere. On Saturday night we did sparklers in the yard and then went over to the elementary school for the big fireworks.

Fair Time

This week was the fair in Shelby. I think the best part may have been walking in to the fair grounds. Penelope saw the buildings, the colorful flags and everything and started jumping up and down and squealing and yelling "look, flags." She was so excited and we hadn't even done anything yet. We decided it was a good time to introduce rides to Penelope and she had a great time. She loved the kid rides and she even held her arms ups when we went on the roller coaster and kept saying "wooooo." We only lasted about 2 hours at the fair because it was hot and both girls got tired rather quickly, but we had a great time.
We also got to go to the parade and I so wish I had had the camera with me to get a video of Penelope. She was jumping up and down, laughing hysterically and yelling "here they come" as she saw the different floats and cars coming down the road. It was so funny. I am so sad that I don't have a video of it.

Penelope won this little unicorn on a "fishing" game.

Eleanor was so patient and enjoyed watching everything.

Rain

We had a great rain storm yesterday and I couldn't resist letting Penelope go out and play in it. She had such a great time. Eleanor didn't like the rain at all, so we had to stand and watch from the doorway. Otherwise, I would have been out there playing with her.

Lying in a puddle. I wonder what the neighbors were thinking. :)Shivering!

She had so much fun but she was ready to come in because she was tired of the 5 lb pull-up! So we went inside and she took a nice warm bath.

Unique

So, both of our girls love their pacifiers and both have unique ways of putting them in their mouths. I thought Penelope's way of putting her bottom lip over her paci was strange, but then we had Eleanor. . .
