Fall

This is 4 posts in one. Everything happened in such quick succession that I didn't have time to post anything in between.

Fall has been crazy this year. We had an early freeze before the trees had changed colors and it was so interesting to watch all of the leaves fall from the tree in one day. In the morning there were no leaves on the ground and by the end of the day the tree had shed them all. The girls didn't really mind, they had a great time playing in the huge pile of leaves that normally would have partially blown away before we could get them into a pile.

Penelope was a great help at scattering the leaves I had already raked into a pile. As you can see she gave up the rake for a mop. Whatever works right?

Penelope turned 3 in October. We had 4 parties for her too. Not intentionally. We had a little family party the night before her birthday because Aaron was having surgery that day, my friends brought her a balloon and presents on her birthday, then we had little joint birthday party with a friend from church and then Janet and John and the boys brought cupcakes and presents on Sunday and we had another joint party for Penelope and Eleanor. She felt special all week long.
Grandma Heaton made her this cute little skirt and headband and sent a fairy tale book that we have been reading every night since. Thanks Ma'am!
Aunt Penny sent pajamas for Penelope and her bitty baby. Penelope now takes this baby to bed with her every time she wears her matching pj's.
We also got to celebrate Eleanor's first birthday November 2nd. I can't believe she is one already. She had a great time with the cake, not really eating it as much as licking it. :)
As cute as can be, even when filthy.

We also had a great time on Halloween this year. Eleanor was a skunk and Penelope was a princess riding a unicorn. (Every time anyone asked Penelope what she was going to be for Halloween she would say "princess corn.") Penelope had so much fun this year and she would even say "trick or treat," which she didn't do last year.
