Chillin'

We are still in the rental house. It has a nice backyard for the kids to play in and it has, thankfully, been a warm spring so we have been able to spend lots of time outside. I am missing having a yard to work on and a garden to plant but we only have 3 more months until we get to move in to, as the kids call it, "the big house".
Anyway, I just wanted to include a couple pictures of the kids chillin' in the back yard.

Preschool

Penelope's preschool class had their end of year program the other day. They were so cute. They showed us lots of songs and things that they had learned throughout the year. Penelope is pretty comfortable in front of a crowd (she sang a little solo at the branch talent show) so she had a great time. It was so fun to watch her.

So fun, in fact that Sullivan decided he needed to join her on the last song.
This is Penelope's teacher, Mrs. Cross.
Penelope made this little lawn chair for her fairy all by herself today and I thought it was so creative I just had to share.

A Giggle or Two

Last night I was a little angry at Eleanor (imagine that) and she kept saying "Mom, don't be mad with me anymore." Well, then she knelt down and said her prayers and asked that Mom wouldn't be mad with her anymore and I just had to change my attitude. So I put on a smile and when she climbed into bed I said "Look Eleanor, I'm not mad anymore." Her face lit up, she took my face in her hands and said "Mom, it's great to see you again."

One of the counselors in Primary came up to me just before Sacrament Meeting on Sunday to tell me that that day in sharing time they were talking about keeping the commandments and asked the kids what happens when they break a commandment. Penelope's answer: "You get banished."

Penelope was full of them on Sunday. On our way home from church she was telling me that she knew all about Adam and Aunt Eva.

Sullivan is not yet saying absurdly cute things, but he doesn't need to. He just exudes cuteness.

Walking Man

He still prefers the speed of crawling but Little Man is walking!

Sneaky

There is a certain type of quiet that just means there is trouble happening. Eleanor is wonderful at this type of sneaky trouble and on Tuesday it took the form of sitting under the dining room table and quietly snipping off her beautiful hair. She has been so good with scissors up to this point but it is a lesson they all have to learn for themselves I guess. As I was cutting the rest of her hair off she kept saying "I want long hair." A bit late for that my dear. She looks really cute with her short hair and everyone keeps telling her so. Hopefully all of the compliments will not tempt her to try the sneaky scissor caper again.
